Incorporate.com has helped over 750,000 customers since they started business in 1993.

How Much Is Incorporate.com?

You can get an LLC for as little as $99 + state fees. This is an economical price, although it is not the least expensive one we found online (IncFile, for example, charges just $49 + state fees). However, many competitors charge even more than Incorporate.com — so let’s take a look at what is offered in their LLC package.

What You Get

If you choose The Starter package for $99 + sate fees, Incorporate.com will complete and file your formation documents, and deliver files electronically. You’ll also get access to a $50,000 Corporate Veil Guarantee® and an online tool called ComplianceWatch®. Incorporate also offers higher-level packages. The Essentials package adds a Compliance Kit and company seal, Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN), and LLC Operating Agreement, and costs $385. The Works is $620.95 and includes all of the above, plus an Online Guidebook and Business Coaching.

How Fast?

Once Incorporate.com receives your filed paperwork back from the state, they send it to you electronically for immediate access. The website does not specify how long it takes for filed paperwork to arrive, but we assume (based on other LLC formation websites we reviewed) that the time frame will vary depending on your state. They do offer Expedited Shipping via FedEx, for $20 extra.

Bonus Features

Earlier in this review, we noted the Compliance Watch tool, which is free when you choose Incorporate.com as your registered agent. This tool sends you alerts when compliance filings are due, gives you unlimited online document storage, and includes a to-do list and business profile. Incorporate.com’s $50,000 Corporate Veil Guarantee® (not available to N. Carolina residents) is also helpful for peace of mind — if you follow the steps provided by them and you are held personally liable because your “corporate veil” is pierced, the company will reimburse your legal defense fees up to $50,000.

The Trust Factor

Incorporate.com has incorporated more than 500,000 small businesses, and was the first company to provide Internet-based incorporation services. Its business owners also claim that the company can trace its roots back over a century — although we’re guessing they’re talking about a parent company or its founders, since “.coms” weren’t around in the early 1900s. Either way, a long history in business can be a good indicator of trust. However, we did find six negative Incorporate.com reviews on the Better Business Bureau website, despite the company’s A+ rating.

The Big Picture

After researching the company for this review, we believe that Incorporate.com could be a good choice to start an LLC online. They are speedy, have a long history in business, and their pricing is fair. However, for our top choice to start an LLC online, see our IncFile review.
